Greetings
from Concan!
It is our 44th year to host the Porcelain Artist
Workshop! We are looking forward to these two weeks in May. We
have talked to many teachers who are planning to make 2008 a great
success - we are hoping that you will make plans to join us. Come
for a week or maybe two filled with painting, instruction, demonstrations,
fellowship and fun. This year's sessions are scheduled as follows:
Session I: Sunday, May 11 - Friday, May
16
Session II: Sunday, May 18 - Friday, May 23
Each
session begins with an evening meal on Sunday and ends on Friday
after breakfast. The Teacher Display and Get Acquainted Party
will begin at 7 pm Sunday night in the demonstration room.

We are proud to enclose our list of teachers
who have already committed to come to Concan. We hope their styles,
techniques and specialties will offer something for everyone.
We have teachers using an assortment of different methods, so
this will be a good time to try different teachers and different
methods of painting. Please feel free to contact these teachers
and arrange for classes in advance. You may also sign up on Sunday
night when you arrive.
The 2008 price schedule rates are based on cabin
amenities and occupancy. As you can see, the more the merrier
- and the cheaper! The price will include lodging, meals, taxes
and gratuity, firing, an outdoor BBQ (weather permitting), a sunset
hayride and inner tubes for any who care to float the beautiful
cypress lined Frio River. Don't forget to pack your swimsuit!

The registration form enclosed please complete
and return it to Neal's Lodges along with a $50.00 deposit per
person, not per cabin. This will ensure your reservation for 2008.
Tentative cabin assignments are based on last year's occupancy,
but be sure to mark your cabin preference on the form. Those of
you who came last year automatically get the same cabin you were
in as long as your deposit is here by March 18th. If you have
any problems sending a deposit by March 18th, please call or drop
me a card. For new students or students who did not come last
year, a variety of good cabins are still open.
Students, you will get a 15% discount off the
regular price of the cabin if you stay for the full two weeks.
We look forward to hearing from you soon and hope to see you in
May. We ask that you encourage your china painting friends to
join us this year as well. Don't forget to bring your homemade
"goodies" for the big sale. They can be anything from
aprons and tee-shirts to painted china to antiques. Hope to see
you soon.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mary Anna Roosa Owner/Manager
